SHE says one of the most exciting days when THEY were building this house was when the de Gournay wallpaper went up in the guest loo /gents /cloakroom /powder room or whatever you like to call it. The vanity was copied exactly from a Georgian table but given longer legs. Pretty painted waste paper bin from Pigotts Store
The open top basket was bought from Sibyl Connolly in Dublin (years ago) immediately upon being told by Ms Connolly that Hubert de Givenchy had bought a swath of these baskets. ............SHE insists SHE is not shallow!
Absolutely divine wallpaper!!!!! I would be excited also!!! Love the green!!!!

Green is HER favourite colour.
DeleteI agree - it's lovely. I'm a big fan of Chinoiserie wallpaper
ReplyDeleteYes all the designs de Gournay do are wonderful
DeleteSo very lovely! I'm especially excited to see a photo of the Sybil Connolly basket! The fact that Givenchy bought them would have enticed me to buy one, too!
ReplyDeleteSHE has some lovely pics of Sybil Connolly's house and garden taken the day the basket was bought and SHE had a long chat with Ms Connolly about the very chic M. Givenchy. SHE has loved reading about Sybil on your blog too!
