About Me

My photo
Southern Highlands, NSW
Welcome to my world. I am a young Shi Tzu puppy who lives in considerable comfort at Lynwood Farm with THEM. I’m fascinated by the way people live - in the rooms they build, the gardens they plant, the treasures they collect and the comfort they create. THEY give me the complete run of the house, so I will be able to show you lots of pictures of life at Lynwood.

Sausalito

THEY have friends, Katherine & Bill Keller from Sausalito, coming for a few nights - preparations for the visit are in full swing

Lisa and SHE love doing the flowers most of all - Lisa arranging the hydrangeas - you can just catch a glimpse of the box on the chair - its from HER most favourite shop (almost) in the world, Porthault.

Off to Bowral farmer's market early in the morning for what we can't get out of the garden at Lynwood
here are the seedlings people where all the kitchen garden plants come from (they go to all our local markets (pplants@bigpond.net.au) - if you want help, our friend Jonathan Purvis is the one to make you a kitchen garden. Otherwise you can do it yourself - and have a lot of fun in the process - by calling Mickey Robertson
the most delicious organic baker is  Flour Water Salt in Bowral - our friend Ruth Dwyer calls its Earth Wind & Fire (she is a child of the seventies)

all dressed up for lunch in the sun room
and the dining room for dinner (before the candles are lit)
Everything is now ready
I think I can see them coming - why are people always late ?
drinks before dinner, in the drawing room - I am always hoping something delicious might get dropped on the matting
two glamorous guests looking pretty on the green sofa - sadly Katherine sprained her ankle out bush walking - do you recognise the mother of Bunny & Penny beside her (she has her own blog now which is fun to read)

Bill enjoying our company in the snug - the rest of them are asleep ! the fabric in the blind has been discontinued by Colefax & Fowler but Nicky Haslam is doing a similar version today

Peter & Frances Luffman came to visit for the day - he has plenty of war stories from his Newsweek days which THEY just lap up

breakfast set up in the sun room before the train back to Sydney - we collected the eggs just half an hour before THEY boiled them - Mrs. MacGregor delivered yet another double yolker !

  1. Bumble, your mother sets a beautiful table! I'm mightily jealous of the big Dodie Thayer tureen. I have one but it's much smaller. :)

    1. Glad you like it. SHE was very excited when that tureen arrived in a HUGE box about 20 years ago, long before such long distance shopping was as easy as it is now.
